A fourth planned Murfreesboro Gateway area apartment complex will openby a proposed Krispy Kreme where crews are grading Robert Rose Village East, a developer said Tuesday.
“We will probably break ground in the third quarter of 2018,” said Ross Bradley, a vice president of development for Murfreesboro based TDK Construction Co. Inc.
Bradley expects to be leasing the first of 255 available apartments for Vintage Gateway by fall 2019 for a project that will take about 18 months to complete on the south side of Medical Center Parkway between Robert Rose Drive and The Chop House restaurant off Thompson Lane. Oct. 18 meeting at City Hall, 111 W. Vine St.

Vintage Gateway will beTDK’s second apartment complex off Medical Center Parkway. The company is also building Vintage at The Avenue, which will offer 203 apartmentsnear the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center when completed by January, Bradley said.
Gateway renters want walkability, developer saysThe two Vintage apartment complexes will lease for an average of about$1,400 per month. The properties will push future Gateway apartments to 1,374 andfollow two others now open: Henley Stationthat will have 580 apartments after crews complete 177 more on the north side of Medical Center Parkway; and Everwood at The Avenuewith 336 apartments on the west side of Robert Rose Drive.
The four parkway complexes are a short drive from three others on Manson Pike on the west side of Interstate 24. Once completed, those properties could offer up to 906 apartment units.

Gateway area apartments are attracting renters who want to live within walking distance from restaurants and stores at The Avenue Murfreesboro and other shopping centers, Bradley said.
“The one amenity that’s hard to replicate is the walkability factor,” Bradley said.
Gateway apartments to have access to Murfreesboro GreenwayBradley noted how the city also has plans for a multi use path along a Wilkinson Pike that will lead people on foot or bicycle to jobs at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, The Fountains at Gateway and other offices.
The pedestrian paths in the Gateway area connect to the city’s Stones River Greenway.
“There’s pretty neat options that we haven’thad before without getting on a major roadway,” Bradley said.
“They are a renter by choice, not necessity,” said Bradley, who touts the upscale amenities that include elevators and a rooftop bar at The Vintage at The Avenue. Gatton.

Smith’sStonegate Commercial real estate firm is developing the 32.5 acre Robert Rose Village East that will include The Vintage Gateway in the center and Krispy Kreme as an out parcel.
“It’s a great place for people to live, and that’s what we were trying to accomplish,” said Smith, adding how many people want to live within walking distance of restaurants, stores and jobs. “That’s exactly the definition of an excellent mixed use development.”
