A woman who has accused Glastonbury psychologist Clark E. Allen of sexual assault has been a patient for six years and would see him weekly at the practice he runs out of his Hubbard Street home, according to an arrest warrant charging him with fourth degree sexual assault.

On Oct. 7, 2017, the woman, 32, later told Glastonbury police, the appointment began with a “very long hug” and then Allen, 83, asking her to sit in his office chair and then massaging her.

As the woman spoke to Allen, she said, he interrupted her and asked her to follow him, according to the warrant. Although apprehensive, she said she followed him.

“What is it?” she asked. “It’s a trap,” he replied in what she described as a lighthearted tone.

The woman told police she thought Allen was joking, but he led her to a bedroom, moved a few items off the bed and then told her, “Here, rest my friend,” according to the warrant. The woman told police she was frightened and nervous, but trusted Allen, laid down and closed her eyes. “Thank you, I probably need the rest,” she said she told Allen.

She said she then felt Allen lay down next to her and she became paralyzed with fear and was not able to do or say anything, according to the warrant.

“Well, there’s a small price to pay for the rest,” the woman said Allen told her. He then he began kissing her face and mouth and told her that he loved her, according to the warrant.

In a written statement to police, the woman wrote that she “went into complete shock and couldn’t move, run or say the things I so desperately wanted to,” according to the warrant.

The woman told police that Allen began to grope her breasts above and beneath her clothing, according to the warrant. Allen became more aggressive and touched her elsewhere on her body and told her that she was a fantasy come true and that he “always wanted to make love to me.”

As she grabbed her purse and tried to leave, she said, Allen grabbed her hand and placed it against his penis and said “next time I’m gonna ask that you touch me,” according to the warrant.

The woman immediately told the friend who picked her up from Allen’s home about the incident and later contacted police.

In the days after the incident, according to the warrant, Allen called the woman almost daily asking her to set up another appointment. In one voicemail message he said he was “really starting to enjoy this long distance love affair” and referred to her as his “much loved friend.”

When questioned by police, Allen said he would not force someone to do something they did not want to do, especially “someone vulnerable.” He also denied any sort of consensual relationship with the woman.
